People can rate a product, service or a site from one to five stars. Star ratings have an enormous impact on customer behavior and purchase decisions, and leveraged smartly, they can be used to increase social proof, boost word-of-mouth marketing, and even get better results from paid ads.
From the data we see at Yotpo, 94% of all purchases are made for products with an average rating of 4 stars and above. And, higher rated products get more reviews. Which lead to more traffic, and more sales, and more five star ratings because when a few people say something is good, everyone wants in on the party.
