Yotpo Subscription’s migration process is unlike any other. With a team of experienced migration specialists at the ready, Yotpo will seamlessly transition brands from their current subscription solution to Yotpo Subscriptions.
Step 1) Getting Started with Your Migration
Once a brand decides to migrate and reaches out to the Yotpo team, the partnership begins. The Yotpo Subscription team touches every migration, ensuring a smooth, uncomplicated process. The migration experts will confirm things like communication preferences and overall goals. Then, behind the scenes, the Yotpo team performs an eligibility check, looking for any conflicts with legacy features, third-party apps, or existing settings that might hinder the migration. Once all the boxes have been checked, the team documents their findings so they can be as quick and seamless as possible once the confirmation to proceed with the migration is granted.
As we mentioned, this is the only time Yotpo needs the brand’s assistance. Here is what the team will need:

- Download the Yotpo Subscriptions app, but don’t worry about setting anything up
- Upgrade the Yotpo Subscriptions app to Unlimited, at no cost
Step 2) The Migration Process
In all seriousness, there is no actual magic. But there is a team of hard-working experts working diligently behind the scenes to transition your store from its current subscription solution to Yotpo. The experts take this white-gloved migration very seriously and divide the process into three parts.
- Onboarding – The first part of the process starts with removing the former provider’s widgets and adding Yotpo widgets. The team then replicates the selling plans and launches the Yotpo Subscriptions widget to handle all new incoming subscriptions.
- Migration – During the next phase of the migration process we disable any email notifications from the previous provider, ensuring none of the former communication is sent to your subscribers to avoid any confusion. We then take all your current subscription contracts and export them from your old provider, and import them into Yotpo Subscriptions.
- Ramp up – Finally, we’ll cancel any contract that is set to create an order within the next two weeks from your previous provider, ensuring no duplicate recurring orders are created from both platforms. This does two things, it makes sure your customers continue to have a good experience and it allows you, the merchant, some time to settle into the new platform.
One thing to note is that Yotpo will work on a duplicate theme, this allows you to approve and revert any changes, giving you a little peace of mind during what is typically a stressful process.
Step 3) Launching Yotpo Subscriptions
Finally the team tests, tests, and tests again.
All that’s left to do is to go live. From the point of confirmation, migrations can take anywhere from one hour to 48 hours. On average it takes the team no longer than three hours to complete a migration.
